NO MORE CRUMBS
SCRIPTURE FOCUS
Matthew 15:22–27; Ruth 2:2–16
● Key Verse:
"Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table." – Matthew 15:27
"Let her glean even among the sheaves... and let fall some handfuls on purpose for her..." – Ruth 2:15–16 (paraphrased)
MEDITATION
In Matthew 15, the Canaanite woman asks Jesus for mercy. She compares herself to a dog under the table, satisfied with crumbs. But if you trace the thread of Scripture back to Ruth — another Gentile woman — we see something more:
God doesn’t just give crumbs to those who come with faith, but gives fully withholding nothing.
Ruth didn’t belong in Boaz’s field. She was a Moabite, a widow, poor and vulnerable. But she humbled herself, just like the Canaanite woman. And what did Boaz — a symbol of Christ — do?
He said:
● “Let her glean among the sheaves. And let fall some handfuls on purpose.”
(see Ruth 2:15–16)
That means Ruth didn’t just get the leftovers. She got access to the harvest. Boaz instructed his men to drop intentional blessings in her path — not by accident, but on purpose.
Why?
● Yes, the Canaanite woman said, “Even the crumbs are enough.” But Jesus gave her more than crumbs. He healed her daughter instantly. Why?
God is gracious and has always been , reason why He sent Jesus christ.
God doesn’t just want you under the table, neither getting the crumbs he leaves on purpose rather He wants you as a bride at the table he has prepared for you. No struggles , no worries, just resting in his love and abundance.

● Position Yourself

● Show Up
Ruth didn’t wait for the harvest to come to her — she stepped into the field. Today, take one bold action in faith:
