PEACE
SCRIPTURE FOCUS
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
— John 14:27 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL
There is a kind of peace that is temporary—dependent on perfect circumstances, financial security, good health, or human approval. The world offers this kind of peace: conditional and fleeting. But Christ offers something altogether different. A peace that abides within, even when storms rage without. A peace that is not rooted in the absence of trouble, but in the presence of a Person—Jesus.
Jesus spoke these words in John 14:27 just before He would face the cross. He was preparing His disciples for a time of shaking, of loss, of confusion. Yet in that very hour, He bequeathed to them a treasure: “My peace I give unto you.” Not a borrowed peace, not a copy—but His own peace. The same peace that allowed Him to sleep in a storm. The same peace that steadied Him before Pilate. The same peace that kept Him anchored in the Father’s will.
This peace is not external—it is internal. It does not deny the storm; it overcomes it. Isaiah calls Him the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), and Paul reminds us that His peace surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). It guards the heart and mind. It silences fear. It stills the racing heart.
The world gives peace like a contract—it can be withdrawn. But Christ gives peace like a covenant—sealed by His blood, eternal and unchanging. This peace cannot be shaken by war, recession, loss, or betrayal. Why? Because it is not circumstantial—it is relational.
To walk in this peace, we must abide in Him. The closer we dwell in Christ, the more we access this divine calm. His Word becomes our anchor. His Spirit, our guide. His presence, our dwelling place.

Jesus, thank You for the gift of Your peace. Not peace that depends on what I see, but on who You are. Help me to live aware of Your presence. Guard my heart and mind from fear and anxiety. Let Your peace be the anchor of my soul. Amen.
DAILY CHALLENGE
Today, pause in the middle of your busyness. Breathe deeply and invite the peace of Christ to settle within you. Whenever anxiety tries to rise, whisper this truth: “Christ’s peace lives in me.” Surrender every situation beyond your control into His hands. Let His peace be your posture, not panic.
